It is my pleasure to serve as the AFP Big Bend Chapter president for 2012. The AFP Big Bend Chapter Board of Directors join me in communicating our goals and mission to expand membership and improve education for fund-raising professionals and other interested individuals. The membership of the AFP Big Bend Chapter represents individuals whose professional lives are dedicated to the furtherance of philanthropy. We partner and connect with fundraising professionals in the Tallahassee and Big Bend area to provide information and opportunities to increase confidence and on-the-job effectiveness. Please join us on the 2nd Thursday of each month for enthusiastic, informative workshops and a delicious lunch at the Holiday Inn. 2725 Graves Road, Tallahassee.
AFP Big Bend will celebrate National Philanthropy Day®, on Thursday, November 15. More information will be forthcoming regarding the venue and time. National Philanthropy Day is the special day set aside to pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy and those people active in the philanthropic community have made to our lives, our communities and our world. As such, I encourage AFP Big Bend Chapter members to complete a nomination form for the following categories to appropriately recognize those in the community who support philanthropy in extraordinary ways:
National Philanthropy Day® is celebrated because of the remarkable impact of the charitable sector and the increasing role it plays in our societies and countries around the world. Individuals are connected to causes, and to each other. Civic participation, and important societal bonds, are created and strengthened through philanthropy as we work to improve the quality of life for all people. Please contribute to the celebration by submitting a nomination today.
